Prof. Popat is a Consultant Thoracic Medical Oncologist at the Royal Marsden; and Professor of Thoracic Oncology at The Institute of Cancer Research London, UK.
His specialities include lung cancer and mesothelioma, with publications in molecular genetics and therapeutic biomarkers; and research in genomics and novel therapeutics in thoracic oncology.
In addition to serving as Chair of the British Thoracic Oncology Group and the Advanced Diseases Sub-group of the UK NCRI Lung Cancer Clinical Studies Group, and Cancer Divisional Co-Director of the NIHR-London South Clinical Research Network; Prof. Popat is also active in the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer Lung Group, and the European Thoracic Oncology Platform.
