Prof. Solange Peters is Chair of the Medical Oncology and Thoracic Cancers Clinic, CHUV Lausanne; and a Professor of the Department of Oncology, Lausanne University; Switzerland.
A specialist thoracic oncologist striving toward integrated, patient-centric cancer care; Prof. Peters’ primary areas of research are the discovery of novel biomarkers, and their validation in clinical and pre-clinical settings; and multi-modal treatments for late-stage NSCLC, including actionable driver mutations and targeted therapies (such as antibodies). She is Primary and co-Primary investigator on numerous trials in NSCLC biomarkers and therapeutics, and has authorship on over 200 publications spanning nearly 20 years.
Prof. Peters is President of ESMO for 2020–21, has previously chaired the ESMO Women for Oncology Committee, was elected ESMO Swiss National Representative, and has worked as Subject Editor for the ESMO Guidelines Working Group. In these capacities and more, she champions educational programmes, patient communication, and women in oncology.
