Dr Aurelius Omlin is a Medical Oncologist currently leading the genitourinary oncology team at the Cantonal Hospital St.Gallen in Switzerland. He completed his medical training at the University of Berne in 2003 and his medical oncology training at the University Hospital of Berne, the regional hospital in Thun, and the Cantonal Hospital St.Gallen.
Dr Omlin completed a clinical research fellowship from 2010 to 2013 at the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust and the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) in London under Professor Johann de Bono. The work was focused on early clinical trials (phase 1 and 2), translational research, and genitourinary oncology.
After returning to Switzerland, Dr Omlin worked as a consultant for genitourinary-oncology and phase 1 clinical trials in St.Gallen. Dr Omlin, along with Professor Silke Gillessen, initiated the Advanced Prostate Cancer Consensus Conference (APCCC), which addresses areas of debate or lack of evidence in advanced prostate cancer.
He is a member of SAKK (Schweizerische Arbeitsgruppe für Klinische Krebsforschung), ESMO (European Society of Medical Oncology), ASCO (American Society of Clinical Oncology), and FMH (Swiss Medical Association) and won the 2013 ASCO Merit Award. Dr Omlin has 94 publications to his credit.
