Teresa Alonso Gordoa is a medical oncologist in the Medical Oncology Department at the Hospital Universitario Ramón y Cajal, in Madrid, Spain, specialising in the care of patients with genitourinary, germ cell, and endocrine tumours and in early drug development. She also serves as an honorary member of the faculty of the University of Alcalá in Madrid. Dr Alonso Gordoa earned her medical degree at the University of Navarra, Navarra, Spain, in 2008, before completing a specialisation in medical oncology at the Hospital Universitario Clínico San Carlos in Madrid, in 2013. She has recently completed a master’s degree in molecular oncology and the Expert Title in immuno-oncology from the University of Navarre.
Dr Alonso Gordoa participates actively in research projects and clinical trials with international impact. She serves on the Scientific Committee of the Spanish Germ Cell Cancer Cooperative Group, and has, since 2021, co-ordinated the Multidisciplinary Thyroid Group of the Spanish Group of Neuroendocrine and Endocrine Tumours (GETNE). Dr Alonso Gordoa is also a member of the Spanish Society of Medical Oncology (SEOM), the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), and the Spanish Society of Genitourinary Oncology (SOGUG).
Dr Alonso Gordoa has presented at congresses worldwide, has authored and co-authored a number of scientific articles in national and international journals, and is a reviewer for several peer-reviewed international journals.
