Prof Lecia Sequist is Landry Family Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and a lung cancer medical oncologist and Director of the Center for Innovation in Early Cancer Detection at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, USA.
Prof Sequist received her medical doctorate from Harvard Medical School, before practicing internal medicine at the Brigham and Women's Hospital and haematology/oncology at the Dana–Farber/ Massachusetts General joint program, where she also received an MPH from the Harvard School of Public Health.
Her research focuses on both EGFR mutation-positive lung cancer and on technologies that further early detection of lung and other cancers. She also studies cellular changes associated with acquired drug resistance and the significance of circulating tumour cells.
